Orwell

The site of the MacPhail Homestead, preserved and commemorated at Orwell Corner, the region exemplifies the proud Scottish heritage shared by so many Islanders. At Orwell Corner, designated a National Historic Site, visitors can learn about the lives and times of P.E.I`s early settlers. Serving as a microcosm of the Island as a whole, the Orwell region encompasses the three major industries of fishing, farming and forestry and also offers a vairety of landscapes ranging from coastal cliffs and beaches, forests and rolling farmland to the ever-present sea.
